Exercise: Walking, push ups
Lent juice: carrot/apple/ginger, orange/apple/celery, and orange/lettuce
I love fresh fruit and veg and my body does too! But just for the record they do not heal the body in the same way that medicines and other gubbinge we put in the body do not actually heal the body, medicines may suppress symptoms, provide relief etc. That is why the idea that there is a cure for anything is just such a big and tragic myth. The body does its best to get on with healing despite many interferences!
The body is designed with a powerful self-healing mechanism. What raw foods do is provide the right raw (ha ha) material for the body to work with. So this facilitates the smooth running of bodily processes including healing.
We are mind, body and spirit and these all interact with each other. So the state of one's mind can affect one's body and vice versa.
In order to promote healthy living we want to clear the way for body, mind and spirit to get on and be fully body, mind and spirit.
But because we have so veered away from nature's principles in how we live our lives it can now seem like when you go raw that it is the panacea for all things. What is actually happening is you are removing the things that stress the body and increase it's toxic load, and therefore you start to feel more alive in body mind and spirit. And the degree to which you feel more alive in the long run will be in direct relation to what you put in or take away from your body, mind and spirit. This is not just about eating food but also thoughts, beliefs, emotions and other behaviours.
But needless to say our obsession with food and especially cooked food is one of the biggest factors in not achieving the health we are born for. I do not think it is simply a case of cooked food bad and raw foods good. That is too simplistic, the food whatever it is will always be whatever it is, it's us that get to choose what we do with it. We need to be mindful and intentional in what we do in the present by referring back to our values and looking forward to what we want.
It is what we do with what we know that counts.

Real Taste
Exercise: Resting
Food: None
Am doing a water fast today. Noticed some toothache yesterday, so hoping as my body rests it will be able to focus on helping that heal, remineralise etc.
While we are on the subject of fasting, I've observed when I was eating high raw but significant cooked vegan too, that whenever I broke the fast the only thing that actually tasted like it did 'in my head' was raw fruit and veg. You know how you begin to anticipate breaking it with the food of your choice, well this once I had sourdough bread and houmous. And no lie the houmous that always tasted great, just seemed sooo salty, and the bread like cardboard, even though normally I would have found it delicious. Even if you are eating cooked, I would not recommend breaking a fast with cooked food. On the other hand one time I just cut up a fresh pear and it was even better than I imagined it would be, absolutely stunning.
Your body talks, learn the language.

Downtown Detox
Exercise: Push-ups
Food: Mango, spinach and celery smoothie, 4 bananas, green salad with vine tomatoes and avocado, deglet Noor dates, cashew nuts
Feeling a bit fuzzy and have a slight runny nose, although I feel great other than that. Seems to be a bit of a detox thing, because I have another canker sore. They are painful critters! But because I understand what's going on I'm fine with it, would rather not have it but fine, if it is a sign that my body is healing itself. Would have had a lovely long sleep in tomorrow but am on course all weekend, so it will be like working 12 days straight. Eeek!
I know I promised site reviews, and more of my story. I am on it honestly just a little bit pressed for time hopefully next week will be better.
Top tip for proactive living - the solution to every problem is action.
